This evening I sat in the room next to the backtage of Ted mann concert hall (my other part time job) there was that erie backstage lighting( think alien abduction) and a ton of amaxing rythmic drums coming from on stage. The Bad plus was playing and the drummer is what you would imagine a spider crossed club bouncer would look like playing the drums.
Anyways there was this frantic energy to the music, a spasm of the imagination you could say. It remimded me of reading On The road. The stories Kerouac would tell about drinking and lilstening to jazz musician and the moment of it all and the music moving the air. Well it had that feling that inspired feeling to it, something I hadn't gotten much of in my live music experience. I hadn't before wanted to take to the open road and galavant across country.
Well I must drive to the airport shortly my fourth trip in the past two months. I have taken the role of airport friend, and I'm ok with it.
