evolution is used in much too much the wrong way, that things somehow are more evolved or that there are levels of evolution. my favorite part of evolution is that it's not goal oriented. Or as my 9th grade health teacher would say, it is like a leaf floating on a lake, no direction except staying afloat. Funny how he tried to motivate up by painting such a serene picture of being void of goals are.
In this class they keep mentioning the physical difference between humans and other species , I wonder what the psychological difference is. I think maybe it's the ability to recognize our own mortality, that we can look at the dead and know that one day it will be us. Do chimps see other dead chimps and know it is also their fate?
I wonder when that realization happens in human children, are their existential elements in the primates.
