Democracy will see you now...
everyone's got problems and problems are all relative, and they say happiness isn't related to income once you reach a certain level, and that level I hope is when people have enough to eat and feed themselves and their family and not worry too much about paying medical bills if they get sick.
Well socialism ain't it , can't get the job done now anyways to take into account scarcity and pricing, and capitalism may have a chance if it was left to the market, and people relied on selling their products on their merit not on some advertising rhetoric came up with by BF Skinner, tricking people into buying what the want instead of need, necessity is the mother of invention not fucking desire. Granted edison wasn't a buddhist, but he may not have been oprah or Jeffrey skilling or someone who doesn't know when what they have is enough and to stop trying to get bigger and better. Yeah I just compared oprah to enron and I think thats ok.

Well Paul Thomas anderson is making a new movie and it's based on this book called "oil!" and it's from the viewpoint of his son who sees him handing out envelopes of money to men to get a road laid so that an oil well can be put up quick. The dad explains to his son that the people will be taxed but he owns land so he will be taxed as well and the road will benefit everyone in the long run, and that the oil and men he is gonna bring in will put a lot of money into the economy so that by putting a couple thousand dollars into envelops helps cut away a little bit of red tape then who's really hurt by that. The son asks about what he learned in civics class, and that dad tells him that his teacher can keep her high sounding words like "ideals" and "public service" and "democracy" in her office, cause she never had to drill and oil well her business didn't depend on moving heavy materials over a sheeps trail. He says thats the trouble with the education business, is that it is taught by peoples' never done things, had no real knowledge of the real world.
I think that last part holds some truth and I'm debating the rest.
I did a paper on how denver became a metropolis out of a small mining town, and it depended a lot on a couple of businessmen getting together and buying things up and creating business. Most of it was done on the sly or probably not the whole up and up, and it makes me wonder the sacrifice you make with bureaucracy ( red tape) compared to bribes and things like this sort.

Hmm

Oh I got a CD from a mini van I was driving at work, I asked what the music was and turns out it was this strange humming from a religious group called Eckankar, they have this temple in Chanhassen, Mn and I guess it looks like it's made out of lego blocks, but the cd is pretty bitching
