My Brother showed me this guess it's the new thing, I kinda dig it
http://www.moceanworker.com

evolution is used in much too much the wrong way, that things somehow are more evolved or that there are levels of evolution. my favorite part of evolution is that it's not goal oriented. Or as my 9th grade health teacher would say, it is like a leaf floating on a lake, no direction except staying afloat. Funny how he tried to motivate up by painting such a serene picture of being void of goals are.
In this class they keep mentioning the physical difference between humans and other species , I wonder what the psychological difference is. I think maybe it's the ability to recognize our own mortality, that we can look at the dead and know that one day it will be us. Do chimps see other dead chimps and know it is also their fate?
I wonder when that realization happens in human children, are their existential elements in the primates.

A throw up in graffiti, is much different then outside the bar on the curb.

Today in class we discussed the difference between fiction and history, my professor argued that footnotes define history that it is checkable. But nowadays he says people try not to use the word Fact, it's very Orwellian to think that nothing is fact, or maybe it's more psychology, or even perception and philosophy. I fact check therefore I am ... a historian. Diary is considered a primary source as it gives glimpses into the daily boring lives of sometimes farmers and merchant and peasants and the like. It makes me wonder where will blogs lie in the history books 100 years from now. you could almost argue that blogs are more authentic then diaries, much less banal, cept for those few who use them to record the daily activities
2:17 pm Bought a dozen eggs at corner shop
6:23 PM ate delicious omelet with cousin Jacob
I'd like to think it could even be considered history, that hyperlinks are the new age footnotes, and that all the information you need to back up your daily thesis of a couple paragraphs are a couple of hyperlinks to newspapers that back your ideas.

People keep driving like idiots, I don;t blame them, if I was in a car and dictated where I went by flashing lights and signs, i'd feel like a rat in an experiment after awhile and would just constantly rush to get to the end. Constantly I see people speed up into red lights, nobody drives looking ahead anymore, it's all block by block, no big picture. I blame driving habits for a lot of the bad gas mileage, it's no wonder they made hybrids convert energy as you used the brake, that way they actually get better in the city gas mileage because people use the brake way too much, accelerate too fast, and are just plain impatient.

speed up to slow down
when I'm going round town
I speed up to slow down
see a red light, attack it for a fight
angry like a bull taking a matadors life
I don't care that petrol reserves ain't sound
that none of it comes out of our nations ground
fuck all that noise cause I speed up to slow down

A friends showed me this article
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/21/garden/21freegan.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
I wish they were more clever then just calling themselves freegans, but it's one thing to do it by choice and another to do it for living

I saw this and did a little jig in excitement, this is creative thinking
http://usb.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=00304

This summer is filled with classes and work, it's like I entered the real world too soon, I can't plan trips or time off, I am locked in a schedule, and if I had rage about it I would still be that rodent in the cage. I passed Robert Lewis Stevenson Elementary yesterday, it makes me jealous, to go to a school called somethin like that must be a good conversation starter. While most kids just have founding father and presidential names, some get all the luck, in flordia they have a lewis Carroll school thats connected to this road near cape Canaveral

this one almost caused me to burst, I think I may even show up at the courthouse to protest. I hope gas goes up, I don't mean to be vindictive but it's hard to know that bikers don't get any special treatment when we do things to help pollution and traffic congestion, where is my tax break that the hybrid car buyers get?

There is a sweat that keeps building where my hair used to be, sheepishly condensing with all the other droplets under the proudly displayed comboverhair. Heat they say causes criminality or more specifically that crime rates are higher when the heat rises.
Netflix has been rocking my world latley, I am sure that my best area of learning is visually, I think ideas come to me when I am visually stimulated. the movie the last zapatista's about 90 year old men was watched the same day I saw a older man on campus wearing a t-shirt displaying Emilio Zapata. Odd coincidence? I hope not, a sign that either I am supposed to produce t shirts or watch my netflix movies within the first two days I get them, and if not there will be subtle reminders.

I also went to a drum and base show at the Foundation night club, and it made me think about the combining of this old building with this new and modern form of music and entertainment, the history and space was amazing, it was also a culture of techno fans that I had no idea what the vibe or proper behavioral patters were. It also made me see a scene that is probably fairly large and well know to certain circles. There are many scenes such as this that I have viewed within minneapolis and I got to thinking. Someone should highlight theses scenes or the characters within the scenes that are well known bordering on local legends. or even just events within the scene, a blog to highlight the awesome diversity of those living within this mass called the twin cities.
It should be in blog form no doubt, the easiest accessible low budget medium. Tcunderground.com TCstompinggrounds.com TCplayground.com many more names would be useful.
Thats one thing cities can never get enough of, congratulatory self celebration, it's like nationalism on a small scale. If only TC rolled of the tongue the way USA does in a sporting chant.

I am constantly fascinated with the culture of rhyme and rhythm funny how similar those two words are. Root? http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?search=Rhyme&searchmode=none
well a stab I took at it. as I stewed after my first anthropology 'evolution 1001' class where he has the huts bah to mention morality. Placating this idea of right and wrong that I would assume one would loose when studying nature, as nature does it's thing and there isn't much reason or purpose to it, like humanity we are just a form of nature, but he failed to explain the in depth. arrgh Charlie brown

Take religion to the people

take the people to the steeple

religion don't give hope

it only makes one feeble

its been a tool of the rich

for holdin down the poor

hoping that the problems go away

or are eventually ignored

so the poor people keep on praying

but heaven don't give answers

it only makes one think that

therez an everlasting master

so insteada calling on humanity

man keeps kneeling for insanity

singing for a mission

to a god that ain't existin

but they don't teach darwin

to the children anymore

don't teach any sex-ed

afraid the children turn to whores

so the fundamentalists win

and reason burns in hell

cause facts aren't ever heard

over the ringin of church bells

so people in the mosque

the temple or in churches

realize that you've lost

your ignorance is perverted

into guns violence and death

into greed, hatred and excess

so that which you ignore

kills like conquistadors

no more aztec, no more inca

wiped them out like Katrina

god ain't giving then no help

god's like a glorified FEMA

and old books are full of promises

that never seem to get met

so insteada wasting prayers

I'm go on offensive like the Tet

I was watching a movie and a guy asks this doctor in prison if there a cure for guilt, and he says if there was everyone would want some. But to me I thought that it would never work cause then it would put the Catholics out of business, and then where would that leave latin america? Today some Jehovah's Witness people came to my door and handed me a phamphlet about the evils of greed and money, I thought I should have printed out some Marx and given it to them, the Marx evangilists are just not getting the press they need, every cause or religion need some celebrity spokeperson I think, because even if you get made fun of a lot in the media like Scientology, you have to realize that millions of people know about them now who didn't before. Scientology is popular enough that it recognizes it in spelling mistakes, now thats something.

I was pondering the constitution today like any mediocre american should, and i remembered how a friend of mine used to say that Grizllys must be offended by the second amendment, fucking right to bear arms my ass they say. But now that the amendments are living breathing things that can be altered and changed like hairstyles. That many of the things written get taken litterarly and out of the context they were written. Arms back then were mostly muskets, now they have said people don't have the right to rockets or bombs like the government but what the hell was the "arms race" of the cold war then anyways? I wonder if anyone has clip arted Washington smiling with an uzi under his arm. Heston would be proud, damn dirty founders. I'm sure they did like arms though all the duels going on, no when people dueling it just happens in court, they should maybe look into rich people killing each other again instead of just poor people killing each other. Bill gates dueling with possibly a glock or maybe he's more a snub nosed type of guy.
Now this is how to show your love for your country, I found it by googling images under "George Washington Gun"

I wonder sometimes that as idealism dies, if it is only natural for pessimism to creep in. because you can't just say I was young I didn't know, well you can but you could not know any time after that, that the thing you believe in today could be turned upside down at any minute.
as a person who truly believes in changing his mind, loves it actually, find it refreshing like the other side of the pillow, thinks that maybe standing too firmly leads to cement in your shoes, lacking drive to push to move be creative, challenge or just call bullshit on most everything you see.

while it is so common of us upper middle classer's to challenge our own privelage to reconsider where the wealth of our childhood came from, and now how our actions of today effect or benefit the world and those around us, do they benefit the people or companies you believe try to do good? does the fact that I am writing this on Blogger.com rather then any other blog space say anything, Google owns this they allow filtered searches in china, yet the initial wording in their IPO is this "do no evil"
yet there is alway the contraty http://www.bloggernews.net/16939

oh well frustration on fruition of the silence you've been pissin away, through all the double clickin to find the answers of the mission of what the hell to say to try to make some change to day, by why make change when you can't even spare it, spare change in the pockets clinking like the tocking of the grandfathers clock , who says the time is coming, as the water is running away.

There is a freedom to the bicycle that I sometimes overlook, they way it's quiet. No roar, just the wind in your ears. And on memorial day biking to the state border was a signal, as I would peak hills and then open up a valley below, there are no valleys in mineapolis, no thoughts of the past, of the massive landscape, about how my bike would be able to be used back the, never that feeling in a car, never that open air freedom. That thought turning to the past, more just a thumping of hands upon the wheel to the radio, it's a different nostalgia a shorter one. No tired legs to tell you that you worked, no slight sunburn to say you were exposed in the word. Biking till your legs cry, pushing them like a stubborn child into the bathwater.
Red Ochre is some sort of wonderful rock sprinkled upon the dead of long ago, stoned to death, pot overdose, rocky mountain high colorado.

black boy came up to me
said I was cool, he rested his bike
took a seat
white people all afraid and shit
not you man
but hey, you smoke?
hesitant, yeah somewhat
you like what?
like the white, or the green
yeah green man, I dig it
so he wanted me to buy it from him
I passed on the white
then I passed on the green
buying on the street ain't my thing
he pushed,
a little like a good dealer should
but I wouldn't relent
remembering the red letter T
DARE, emblazoned
he asked for bus fare
but I reckoned latter
with drugs you think he could find
a dollar or two around
for his medicine
trying to barter with the valet
ain't no good, go for the toothless
they got more sympathy money
then you, to buy from the
black boy with a jersey on
maybe they like you white too
but you keep pushing
and I will smoke
like a cartoon bull out my nose
driving quarter million dollar cars
as the shelter closes a block away
leaving old men to wander
drunk, or skitzo, past the car
looking for something to get through
so maybe they got a dollar
they would have spent on the shelter
but it's closed so you can take it
for the white,
the white from the black boy

Watched "born into this" Bukowski makes me wonder if I should actually read him, rather then take a poem here and there. I graduated high school and my senior quote, which every senior gets, was from his gravestone stating 'don't try' which I thought was funny, but not as clever as my other friend who put "would you like some sarcasm with my apathy?" He joined the army. here is what I wrote in the following 24 hours after viewing.

It hangs over you looming

like a bad dream you keep having

you must make that exit soon

forget the anger, the desperation

your meals will be full

you'll worry about being old

the world falls away behind

a fence for your dog and children

but your not ignorant, just fearful

to abandon your house

your 10 O'clock news

so next to your wife awake,

you worry over her snoring

or the baby in the monitor

not anymore about how messed it is

or that shit that used to make you cry

people living off of others garbage

being shipped in a night train

to scavenge the dumpsters of rich

and their rumbling on the rail

combines with snores of your wife

and you imagine that compassion

is everything, so your ignore

not ignorance, but bliss

the man with the sign is not your problem

not like you used to, you accept

tolerance kills lynching you up

so take a sip, and stare at the paper

full of red you only see the color

not the substance of the words

not the process of it or how it sounds

title

I wonder if your last breath feels good

like a smokers morning cigarette

like a hand on your cock

like sun on your skin

or some shade in a sweat

like whatever you desire

or a kiss on your forehead

hanging perfume on your sleeping lids

I wonder if you feel the last beat

a reverberating note to a song

as oxygen squeezes out of your blood

what senses last longest

what imagine does a blind man think

as your heart pitter pats away

and no more, just black

not even black

something you can't describe

you relax they say,

and when that weight of life removes

you eek out some shit

that you've been holding onto

because it's hard to let go of

when the body is strong

clenching life, as if hung

over a toilet sick unable to stand

but

I think if maybe we all anted up

we'd walk around wearing diapers

remembering were animals,

and we shit when we like

TITLE

American Idolatry

so christian, so righteous

the flag will be draped

over st peter, like a bloody balboa

as the song is sung and judged

our electronics mashed by fingers

cellulite asses connected

glazed eyes, slurp it all in

millionaires daughters sold

like rich slaves, she fucks for fame

a modern courtesan, body naked

clothed on the check out aisle

headlines glaring, next to the gum

and others they make up our focus

we rake them across the world

shouldn't everyone one want our best

our blond and healthy, while shacks

with tiny satellites show the uninsured

how surely it is that she appears fascinating

her parents buildings loom high

crawling up like her legs to her neck

My 7th grade social studies teacher spent the first week of class not giving us any directions, trying us to figure out that we should "always ask questions" I agree with him but think it should be "always be curious" you don't need to always verbalize. Curiosity killed the cat but enlightened the human enough to ask what it means when a cat dies, or if a cat get squished by a falling tree does anyone hear it's high pitched death prattle as it gets killed?

everyone should watch charlie Rose episode may 23d
http://www.charlierose.com/features/the-charlie-rose-science-series
I would enjoy a job like charlie rose very much, I don't like journalism but I think I would like talk radio or a program where all you do is interview and talk to people. The don't have a college degree for that.

I just gave blood for the first time today, reneging on my statement that "I'll give it when I first get it and not until then" but I got a burrito and stylish long sleeve T out of it. I thought about the bars around the bus, and the fact that giving blood probably lets you get intoxicated much faster, 'dude, I love to donate then intoxicate, it's like the best.'

saw the movie 'dark days' it's a must see in the truest sense. spread the word

I wonder if the underground is where we would all go in the futuristic society, powering our lives by running on wheels.

Knock knock,
who's there,
control freak, now this is the part where you say control freak who.

Oh I get to find out my blood type, and after that my sterotype, I'm thinking Pioneer or Sony, then my pro-toetype, but thats really for soccer players making the big bucks.
typewriter, someone who writes down all the types. you type on a key board but you write on a type writer, but on a keyboard you can play music. ain't that the truth.

On the Nature of things.

if only steven hawking could have been alive when the greeks and romans were discussing the beginings of everything. If only the science of today could combine with the philosophy of yesteryear, then maybe we could understand more that we are all just energy, be it on jupiter or a far away galaxy it's all made up of the same stuff.

Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist. -Epicurus

Netflix has been entertaining me for the past week, mostly documentaries. Katrina a requiem, it's amazing the powers images have, i wonder if people auditory learners are more effected by listening to sad words and visual learners by seeing sad things. What evokes the most sympathy, is it the image of people floating dead in water, an old woman dead slumped in a wheelchair, all cause food and water were to hard to distribute to the masses.
Oh poverty thou art a villain, you are the catalyst of Marx. You evoke reactions where you roam, anger that you persist.
Economists are convinced in our own selfishness, that we need to feel better then the next guy to motivate ourselves. That without reward there is no fulfillment of action. We are Pavlov's dog, but in a money sense. Damn the economy, damn the jobs we think we need to produce things we can buy to continue a cycle without purpose. There is no humanitarian goal of the economy, so it's odd that humanitarian goals of congress are weighed against the effect it would have on the economy, not the effect it would have on those it is trying to help.

But we must not look at the problem, what does it say about a country that dosen't want to show it's citizens whats going on.

What if the Germans destroyed all documentation of the Holocaust? Oh George Orwell how you would relish these days.

many times talking to my mother I think if it's somewhat part of being raised catholic that makes me challenge things so much. that it's the gag reflex that is emotionally installed, when you are forced to try and view the world in such strict of terms, you just naturally want to appose whatever is attempted to be forced down afterward. that vile taste of catholicism lingers somewhere near the back (click the yellow area) http://www.innerbody.com/image/nerv12.html
But listening to the radio tonight, they explored the imagination, and it made me think that teaching kids finite answers which many religions espouse, might be detrimental to thier imagination. I mean it leaves no room for questioning, religions don't promote anyone to think for themselves. think for yourself churches couldn't exist or draw many people together for fellowship, for thinking is not nearly as entertaining as the Metrodome.
think for yourself churches wouldn't have the same sense of unity.
there can be no solo exploration among groups, except if you test as a group I suppose.
it is undoubtedly human to wonder, and to create endings to our own wonderment, otherwise wouldn't we be wondering our whole lives? those pessimests would say that many would conclude there is no answers, which for those of us who wonder, would say ' that may be the case but... you can't prove it to me" and then that causes us to continue wondering about thier comments.
while all of this was going on, on the radio I heard Johnathon Miller from the BBC talking about his series Athiesim: A brief history of doubt.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documentaries/features/atheism.shtml
You can find it on youtube

Someone once told me this guy wrote a story in which there was no ending, and as irony would have it, many people suspect it was unfinished, but perhaps that was the point, of writing a monotonous life story of a man in brilliant writing.

it's all subjective, classes are ending only so that they can start again. Education like the lion king is a circle of life. If only the supposed real world were like that, that there was a routine, but one that went in cycles, like how accountants have it. work needs seasons and some areas have them, but many do not. what a shame,
I think I shall enjoy my first hip hop show, you know the music of my generation, at the T rock
time to start running before my body has age on it's side and gets angry at me for exersize.
